CASTING NOTE:

This play features two imagined characters who are attending a very real summer camp in America, Camp Siegfried, in the 1930’s for German-American youth. This camp’s historical intention was to indoctrinate young, impressionable German-Americans through Nazi ideals - under the guise to “Meet people who think like you do. Due to who this Camp was attempting to attract and its historical intentions, we encourage folks, especially those whose identities have been disparately impacted by said history, to take care of yourselves throughout the audition process.

SEEKING:

HE
Age: 18+ to play 17. German-American. Golden. Confident, speaks first, and the best at everything. He belongs easily and wears his ideology proudly, like it's a letter jacket. The most dangerous thing about him is his genuine capacity for warmth and tenderness.

SHE
Age: 18+ to play 16. German-American. More of a rose than golden. Awkward and an outsider, quietly funny in the way someone is when they feel on the margins. But underneath that, a deep need to belong. Someone who could bloom in any direction someone points her.
