What a Glorious Feeling!Silent movies are out. Talkies are in! Unfortunately for famed movie star Don Lockwood, his leading ladys comically harsh and squeaky voice is ill-suited for the switch. When their next film is converted into a talking picture, the studio must bring in aspiring actress Kathy Selden to voice all of its female stars speaking and singing parts. Sparks fly between Kathy and Don in this charming love story that will give everyone the same glorious feeling they get when singing in the rain.

BWW Review: SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at Des Moines Playhouse
April 02, 2022 On March 14, 2020, after only two performances, Des Moines Playhouse made the difficult decision to postpone their spring production of “Singin’ In the Rain.” At the time, they didn’t realize that COVID-19 would force them to cancel their show. I was fortunate enough to attend the second performance of their glorious production. Two years later, “Singin In The Rain” returned to the Playhouse stage on March 25, with many of the same cast and production team from two years before. So I was excited to be able to return to this glorious production on March 30 as they kicked off their second week of performances.

March 20, 2020 As we head out of the winter season and into spring, there is one thing we know is coming, rain. This last weekend Des Moines Playhouse opened their production of 'Singin' In The Rain.' As their production opened this weekend, there was a giant storm cloud in the distance called COVID-19 that caused the remaining performances of this production to be postponed. As I write this review, I hope it becomes a preview of an upcoming production.
