Today Funday at Des Moines Community Playhouse to Feature THE GINGERBREAD CHILD

Join the Des Moines Community Playhouse on Dec. 14, 2018, for The Gingerbread Child. This story is part of the 2018-19 Season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at the Playhouse, Friday, Dec. 14, at 9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, and 1:30 PM. Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length. The performance at 10:45 AM will have audio description provided by IRIS. Admission is $6 per person, adults and children. December's featured story is The Gingerbread Child. "Run, run, run, I'm free and wild! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Child!" This cutout cookie leaps out of the oven and into a grand adventure. Will the Gingerbread Child be able to outwit the sly, hungry fox? Will the sly, hungry fox be able to resist such a tasty morsel? Friday Funday performances are held monthly, October 2018-May 2019. The rest of the season features a veriety of stories, including The Golden Goose, Jan.18, 2019; The Mitten, Feb. 8, 2019; Fin M'Coul, Mar. 1, 2019; Snow White, Apr. 12, 2019; and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, May 10, 2019. The Playhouse, now in its 100th season, is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.9:30 AM, 10:45 AM, 1:30 PM The Gingerbread Child Tickets
