The Englert Theatre Hosts the Iowa Opera House Project, Opens 2/9
The Englert Theatre is set to host the Iowa Opera House Project on Thursday, February 9 at 8pm.
The Iowa Opera House Project is a concert series featuring Iowa acoustic talent in pre-sound system performance spaces (opera houses, theaters) scattered throughout predominantly small towns. Sam Knutson, a longtime Iowa City fixture and musician, leads the charge in bringing talented artists to the historic venues. Knutson, who formed the rock band Shame Train, is currently writing a new record and performing songs solo. Singer-songwriter John Waite will open the evening.
The Iowa Opera House Project is part of the Intimate at the Englert Series. Intimate at the Englert events bring both the audience (limited to 100 people) and the performers onstage together: the connection between artist and audience is direct and electrifying. The series is sponsored by Little Village.
Tickets are $10 and available online at englert.org, or by calling the Englert Box Office at 319/688-2653.
