The Des Moines Community Playhouse presents "Mamma Mia!," July 13-28, 2018. Tickets may be purchased online at dmplayhouse.com, by phone at 515-277-6261, or at the Playhouse ticket office trailer in the east parking lot, 831 42nd St. Due to renovations at the theatre, "Mamma Mia!" will be performed at the Staplin Performing Arts Center at Valley High School, 3650 Woodland Ave., West Des Moines.

Who said a wedding couldn't be this much fun? "Mamma Mia!" centers around bride-to-be, Sophie, trying to find her long-lost father to walk her down the aisle. Not knowing which of the three possible men from her mother's diary to invite, she brings all three of them back to the island last visited 20 years ago. With ABBA classics like "Dancing Queen," "Waterloo" and the title number, this smash hit musical is sure to have audiences dancing in the aisles! "Mamma Mia!" has been entertaining audiences since its West End opening in 1999 and winning five Tony Awards in 2002.

The Playhouse cast includes CD Adamson, Morgan Alaimo, Brad Church, Jill Curry, Katie Dorrell, Megan Gilbreath, Chance Hejde, Gannon Henry, Sandy Henry, Kellie Kramer, Jenner Lathrop, Cody Lenz, Stevie LeWarne, Lauren Malcomson, Allyson Martens, Mitchell Nieland, Ken Reams, Kaylee Reininga, Jess Richter, Maxwell Schaeffer, Maddie Sell, Keeley Shantz, Andrew Smalley, Zachary Smith, and Lucas White."Mamma Mia!" is directed by Playhouse executive director David R. Kilpatrick with music direction by Brenton Brown and choreography by Valerie Williams.

The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. The theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
