August Theater Sizzles with Iowa Improv Fest and RENT
The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer continue throughout the month of August, but there are some great events to catch this month.
The Iowa Improv Fest, hosted by Des Moines troupe the Comedy XPeriment, features improv troupes from Des Moines, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, and Omaha. Each night's performance will feature a twenty-five minute set from each troupe and a closing jam session. Performances will be held the August 3-4 at the Stoner Theater. The Des Moines Playhouse wraps up performances of Rent this weekend. The production holds true to the traditional staging of the rock opera and is well worth a look for all those who support community arts. For ticket information, visit http://www.dmplayhouse.com/
