Opera Colorado presents Madama Butterfly, a student dress rehearsal performance at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Directed by Mo Zhou, this production approaches Puccini's opera not as a tragic romance, but as a story of survival and resilience, set during Japan's Rokumeikan era (1883-1887). Soprano Eri Nakamura leads the cast as Cio-Cio-San, joined by tenor Joseph Dennis as Pinkerton, mezzo-soprano Kristen Choi as Suzuki, and baritone Levi Hernandez as Sharpless, with the Opera Colorado Orchestra and Chorus under Music Director Ari Pelto.
