Springs Ensemble Theatre ("SET") closes out its mainstage season with Keith Huff's stunningly brutal drama, A STEADY RAIN, opening October 10th and running through October 27th. Best friends since kindergarten, Denny and Joey now patrol the streets of Chicago as police officers. But a life spent dealing with drug dealers, pimps and prostitutes takes its toll. After one bad decision while on patrol one night, short-tempered Denny and recovering alcoholic Joey find themselves fighting for not only their friendship, but for their very souls. A dark duologue, A STEADY RAIN is a no-holds-barred look at friendship, family, and how far a man will go to protect them both.

A STEADY RAIN was originally staged by Chicago Dramatists in 2007 and premiered on Broadway in 2009. The Broadway production, starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, went on to break records for the highest weekly gross of a non-musical production in Broadway history. Playwright Keith Huff has gone on to write for MAD MEN and HOUSE OF CARDS, and is currently developing A STEADY RAIN into a feature film.

SET's production pairs company founder Steve Emily as Denny, and guest artist Matt Radcliffe as Joey. A STEADY RAIN is produced by Steve Emily, Keri Pollakoff, Emily Christensen and directed by David Plambeck, all members of SET. June Scott Barfield is technical director, Sarah S. Shaver is designing lights and Jillmarie Peterson is designing costumes, all members of SET as well. Sound design is by guest artist Mara Baker and stage management is by guest artist Keegan Jenney.
