For the first Trench-sponsored event of 2011, Paragon Theatre presents a special staged reading of Tom Stoppard's Rock 'N' Roll, an electrifying collision of the romantic and revolutionary. Set in 1968 Czechoslovakia, Graduate student Jan clutches his prized collection of rock albums as Soviet tanks roll into Prague. Spanning twenty years of time and moving between Cambridge and Prague, Rock 'N' Roll brings together music, politics and philosophy in asking the question: "What is worth fighting for?"

Paragon's staged reading of Rock 'N' Roll is part of the Czech Point Denver festival, a city-wide celebration of Czech arts and culture. The festival is a cooperative project of several Denver arts organizations, including the Denver Art Museum and Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and is spear-headed by Opera Colorado. The reading will be followed by a brief mediated talk back and refreshments. $5.00 admission.
