The Byers-Evans House Theatre Company presents "Evermore" by Gary Wright. This regional premiere comes to the Byers-Evans House Museum, located at 1310 Bannock Street in Denver, on October 18, with performances through November 16. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 6:00 p.m., with a special Halloween performance on Thursday Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m.

It is October 1849. Edgar Allan Poe has recently died and his literary executor is compiling Poe's works for posthumous publication. Memories of Poe's final years full of love, hate, loss, and literature are played out through the memories of Dr. Griswold and Poe's mother-in-law Maria Clemm. Poe's best-known tales and poems are intricately woven into the dialogue and brought to life in highly theatrical interludes. The profound effect Poe's personal relationships had upon his writing are revealed, creating a beautiful synergy of art and reality.

The show takes place in the library of the Byers-Evans House Museum, amid the Evans family's furnishings. The house serves as the stage and creates the atmosphere appropriate to the historic nature of the story.

All ticket proceeds help support museum programs, operations and education.
