WRC Hosts 'Creative Chat' with Della Clark, Wilmington Pickling Co and Dorks & Forks Tonight
Wilmington Renaissance Corporation (WRC) announces the program for its third Creative Chat, an informal, interactive series held quarterly to update our community about the vision plan for a Creative District. Each event starts with a networking opportunity followed by a presentation by an expert in the creative or maker field. Creative Chats are free and open to the public.
WRC's Creative Chat: A Vision for a Creative District in Wilmington will feature special guest Della Clark, President of The Enterprise Center in Philadelphia and will be held tonight, November 13, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. at Chris White Gallery, 701 Shipley Street, Wilmington.The Enterprise Center was founded in 1989 by the Wharton Small Business Development Center and provides access to capital, building capacity, business education and economic development opportunities to high-potential, minority entrepreneurs. As a part of their business-acceleration initiatives, the Dorrance H. Hamilton Center for Culinary Enterprises (CCE) supports both established and start-up food businesses and food processors in need of commercial kitchen space and technical assistance.
Attendees will learn about the vision for a Creative District that will establish a creative community with living and work spaces for artists and entrepreneurs in the City of Wilmington and how the kitchen incubator model pertains to the vision plan.
Also featured will be Dan Sheridan from the Wilmington Pickling Company which concentrates on sourcing produce from local farms then creates the brine, fills and seals the jars and handles the distribution to a select group of markets throughout the state. Every bit of product in their jars are hand-picked, cut and packed with pride. As well as Dorks and Forks a new foodie podcast blending food and geek culture hosted by Brian Wild & Dan Sanchez.
