Clear Space Theatre Company to Host Annual Gala, 9/18
The Clear Space Theatre Company celebrates their 11th anniversary on Friday, September 18 with a gala evening from 6:00 - 10:00 pm at IVY Restaurant in Dewey Beach entitled "Black Tie & Barefoot."
The evening is catered by IVY and will feature a preview of shows for the 2016 presented by members of the Clear Space Acting Company and conclude with dancing to The Funsters. Clear Space will also present their annual Spotlight Award to Joyce and Fred Legge of Dagsboro, in recognition of their support of Clear Space and other non-profits in the community. Joyce and Fred have been supporters of Clear Space since its beginning. Additionally, as an engineer, Fred is known in the construction and real estate industries for his support of the "Contractors for a Cause" annual events.
Noted for their high-caliber shows and performing arts education programs, Clear Space was founded as a 501c(3) non-profit arts organization in 2004. Over the past decade Clear Space has produced 82 plays and musicals which have been seen by over 100,000 patrons. The Company has also provides training in the performing arts to students of all ages.
Board President Chris Berg stated, "As I reflect on the journey Clear Space has taken over the last decade, I'm reminded of the struggles, sacrifices and leaps of faith met by our founders and former board leaders in order to build a theater company at the beach. At the same time, I'm comforted and proud in knowing we continue to learn, prosper and grow from each lesson, making Clear Space the foremost leader for live theater and arts education programming in southern Delaware."
