VTA Announces Summer Cool Films Series

Victoria Theatre Association's announces the 2017 Summer Cool Films Series line-up running July 8-August 28, plus titles for Reel Late at the Vic late night movies and daytime Family Films! "There's no better way to spend your summer than at the historic Victoria Theatre watching classic films," says Ken Neufeld, President and CEO of Victoria Theatre Association and The Arts Center Foundation. "We'll show early classics such as WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, BRIGADOON, ROYAL WEDDING and COOL HAND LUKE as well as later classics MCCABE AND Mrs. Miller, KELLEY'S HEROES and CLUE."

"Plus, we are once again hosting the Thursday Family Films series in July with THE NEVERENDING STORY, FLIPPER, FOLLOW THAT BIRD and THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN. THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW returns as part of the Reel Late at the VIC series lineup, along with PURPLE RAIN and Led Zeppelin: THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME. We are still using 35 mm prints as much as possible, keeping the prices low and offering free popcorn and soda at most every show. Come on down and see these great films on the big screen with us this summer."


What's the best part about the 2017 Cool Films Series (besides FREE popcorn and soda)? Tickets are just $6 each ($3 for the Family Matinees) or $35 for a 10-ticket passbook- a great entertainment bargain during a year when a night at the movie theater can cost up to $20 per person! Passes can be used in any combination across all films!

Individual tickets are available day-of-show at the Victoria Theatre Box Office, beginning one hour prior to showtime. Films are shown at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays in the air-conditioned comfort of the Victoria Theatre. Recreating the feel of the old-time movie palaces, guests may enjoy free popcorn and soda in the lobby beginning one hour prior to showtime and a classic cartoon just before the movie.

Victoria Theatre Association is one of Dayton's premier arts organizations, presenting the Premier Health Broadway Series, the Morris Family Series, the Cool Films Series, Projects Unlimited Star Attractions, National Geographic Live Series sponsored by WinSupply and the Win Family of Companies, and Discovery Series, which features curriculum-enhanced live theatre productions for school children. In addition to the performances it presents, Victoria Theatre Association also manages the historic Victoria Theatre, the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, and the Metropolitan Arts Center, which houses The Loft Theatre.
