"The Cody Rivers Show" will be returning to Beavercreek Community Theatre to premiere it's newest show, "Meanwhile Everywhere."

The sketch comedy duo, which includes Mike Mathieu, a 1996 Beavercreek High School graduate, and Andrew Connor, a Columbus native, will bring their antics to the BCT stage at 7:30 p.m.Thursday, April 2. The Beavercreek Community Theatre is located in the Lofino Adult Enrichment and Cultural Arts Center at 3868 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek.

This is the third show that they have presented as a fundraiser for the theater’s lighting fund.

Mathieu, an English major, and Connor, a French and international studies major, met at Ohio Wesleyan University, where they were both theater minors. They worked together on several productions and with the campus improv troupe, the Babbling Bishops.

They moved to Bellingham, Washington after graduation to work at the iDiOM Theater, where the director offered them a regular late-night slot in which they could do whatever they wanted.

The Cody Rivers Show hit the stage for the first time in September 2004 with what the comedy duo describes as  “kinetic and unpredictable.”  Still based in Bellingham, Mathieu and Connor  regularly tour the United States and Canada, entertaining with a blend of dance, music and “conceptually-inspired theater" that entertains audiences by “pushing the envelopes of physical theater, dance, music and high-concept comedy” and by delivering “unique shows unlike any other comedy act, past or present.”

This new show being premiered in Beavercreek “presents a surreal interface of themes, characters and storylines” which “disarm audience expectations and lead viewers deep into absurd realms where laughter is often the only thing that makes sense.”

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling BCT at (937) 429-4737 and leaving a message or by e-mailing boxoffice@bctheatre.org. Tickets can also be purchased online, using a credit card, through the Beavercreek Community Theatre Web site at www.bctheatre.org.
