2010 Michelob Ultra Cool Film Series Presents INDIANA JONES

Ever have a crazy dream where you have to avoid that giant boulder rolling after you or outrun a tribe of native? Now you can experience it at Victoria Theatre! Come get your free popcorn and soda and join Victoria Theatre Association for the 2010 Michelob Ultra Cool Film Series as they continue to play some of the best known classic films. Enjoy the Indiana Jones series in one weekend as Harrison Ford's best-known movie series is presented in historic Victoria Theatre in Dayton August 13- August 15.

Who can forget the iconic look of Indiana Jones with his bullwhip, fedora, and leather jacket, his sense of humor, deep knowledge of ancient civilizations and languages, and fear of snakes? Directed by Steven Spielberg, Indiana Jones remains one of cinema's most well-regarded movie characters. In 2003, he was ranked as the second greatest movie hero of all time by the American Film Institute. "Indiana Jones" was also named the sixth greatest movie character by Empire magazine.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (Friday, August 13, 7:30 PM): In the year 1936, legendary archeologist, Dr. Indiana Jones, is hired by the U.S. Government to find the Ark of the Covenant, which is believed to still hold the Ten Commandments. What he doesn't know, is that longtime rival and enemy Rene Belloq (Paul Freeman) is waiting for him with native Hovitos Indians and Nazis to stop him in his tracks. Indy meets up with an old girlfriend, Marion, played by the adventurous Karen Allen, and they head off to Ciaro where the Ark is thought to be resting. The Ark is known to hold an incredible powerful energy that must not fall into the wrong hands.

Temple of Doom (Saturday, August 14, 7:30 PM): Indiana Jones finds himself in the small poverty-stricken village of Pankot, India where the people believe their children are missing after the sacred Sankara Stone was stolen. He soon discovers the mysterious, booby-trapped "Temple of Doom" where the bloodthirsty Thuggee cult and voodoo doctor reside. Joined by "Short Round" (Jonathan Ke Quan) and "Willie" (Kate Capshaw), Indy must attempt to defeat the doctor, save the children, and recover the sacrEd Stones!

The Last Crusade (Sunday, August 15, 2:30 PM): Set in 1912, Indy must once again race against the Nazis, this time for the Holy Grail, which is thought to grant eternal life to those who drink from it. Professor Henry Jones, Indy's father, played by Sean Connery, is kidnapped by the Nazis because they believe he holds information that will reveal the hiding place of the Holy Grail. Indiana Jones must team up with Dr. Elsa Schneider (Alison Doody) to rescue his father and beat the Nazi's to the Holy Grail. Will Indy get hold of it first, giving the world a future of light, or will the Nazis beat him to it, and send darkness down on the world?

Whip Artist Gery L. Deer is a champion speed and accuracy competitor and a featured performer on television programs like "The Bonnie Hunt Show", StEve Harvey's "Big Time", and NBC's "America's Got Talent." He has performed his spectacular whip arts shows on stages all over the country from Ohio to Las Vegas and has worked on feature film projects like the 2003 Universal Studios movie, The Rundown. A fan of Indiana Jones, Gery grew up with a whip in his hand and is now the managing director of The Whip Artistry Studio, the only permanent facility in the United States dedicated to the non-combative study of the whip as a performing art and sport. Gery is also an accomplished freelance writer and producer who was nominated for the 2010 Ohio Public Image Network Award for Journalism and whose film project, "The Overman," won the 2009 Best Experimental Micro Film award at the 2009 Indie Gathering film festival in Cleveland. His work was most recently featured on the Ohio PBS series, "Our Ohio." Learn more at www.thewhipstudio.com.

Films are shown at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays in the Victoria Theatre. Recreating the feel of the old-time Victory movie palace, guests may enjoy free popcorn and soda in the lobby beginning one hour prior to show time, the Mighty Wurlitzer organ concert beginning 30 minutes prior to show time, and a classic cartoon just before the movie. Tickets are just $5 each, or $26 for a 10-ticket passbook.

Individual tickets are available day-of-show at the Victoria Theatre box office, beginning one hour prior to show time. Passbooks are a great way to experience the rest of the Films Series or bring friends and family to one film and save almost half the amount you would spend on individual tickets! In this musical based on the stories of Shalom Aleichem, Tevye the milkman tries to balance tradition, religion and marrying off his daughters in pre-revolutionary Russia. Fiddler on the Roof was nominated for 1971's Academy Award® for Best Picture.
