The Dance House is a dance studio on the south side of Medina, Ohio, near the junction of Route 57 and River Styx, founded by Amy and Shannon with the aim of building a studio that felt like a home for dancers. Its 5,200 square foot building has three classrooms with professionally installed sprung floors, shatterproof mirrors, Bose sound systems, 17-foot ceilings, viewing windows and natural light. It teaches children from ages 2 to 18 and specializes in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical/contemporary and hip hop, with guest and master teachers brought in regularly to broaden training. Programs span the MiniMovement Academy for preschool and kindergarten ages, levels 1-6 for older students, a club track, an auditioned company and camps, catering to recreational dancers and those aiming at professional careers. Staff have more than 60 years of combined experience, and the studio holds an annual recital.
