The 9:20 Special was a weekly swing dance run on Thursday nights at the Russian Center, 2460 Sutter Street near Divisadero in San Francisco. The evening paired live and DJed swing music with classes: a Level 1 series billed as all a newcomer needed to get onto the floor, and a free half-hour taster lesson at 9:30pm before social dancing. The site provided a beginner's guide, advice on what to wear and which shoes to use, and parking and directions for first-time visitors, with class registration handled through Mindbody.
