About this studio
Dance Moves STL, formerly St. Louis Dancing Classrooms, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to youth development through social dance rather than a walk-in studio. Its mission is to cultivate life skills in children through the practice of social ballroom dance, addressing the social and emotional needs of the whole child while building confidence, positive social interaction and teamwork. The organization delivers its Social Ballroom Residency inside St. Louis area schools, taking teaching artists into classrooms rather than enrolling students at a studio address, and reports serving over 1,000 students from 22 zip codes each year.
