Next Step Dance Studio

The Next Step Dance Studio is at 135 West 9th Street in Junction City, Kansas, and describes itself as Junction City's longest operating dance studio. It is a competitive and recreational dance and tumbling studio serving students from Junction City and surrounding communities including Manhattan, Chapman and Abilene, and says it believes dance is for everyone. Recreational classes are available for ages two and up across a range of age groups and levels, with the styles offered varying by semester; the studio typically runs jazz, ballet, pre-pointe and pointe, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, pom, baton, tumbling, flexibility and strength, plus a convention class that covers a different style each week and a combo tap/ballet/tumbling class for ages five and under. Spring classes running January to May perform in the annual May recital, while autumn classes from September to December appear in a community show in December. The studio also fields a competition team.
