About this studio
Louisville Ballet, the trading name of the Kentucky Dance Council, was founded in 1952 and is the official state ballet of Kentucky and the fifth-oldest professional ballet company in the United States. Led by artistic director Anthony Krutzkamp and chief executive Leslie Smart, it is celebrating its 75th anniversary season, which includes Hamlet & Ophelia, Frankenstein, The Brown-Forman Nutcracker with the Louisville Orchestra, Carmen, the Bourbon & Ballet choreographers' showcase and Momentum. Its training arm, The Louisville Ballet School, teaches children and teenagers and runs a separate adult division, a pre-professional Studio Company and a summer intensive.
