About this studio
Kentucky Dance Academy is a pre-professional dance school in the former Old Good Shepherd School at 316 Wapping Street in downtown Frankfort, Kentucky, led by Academy Director Amanda Whites. Its stated aim is that dancers in Central Kentucky should get serious training without travelling to a large city, with transparent pricing and published curricula. The Youth Division covers ages 18 months to 7, starting with a parent-and-child class and moving through combination classes, and includes a special needs class for differently-abled dancers aged 3 and up. The Pre-Professional Division for ages 8 and up runs graded levels in ballet (pointe from Level III), contemporary, tap, jazz, musical theatre, acro and hip hop. Adult hip hop and private lessons are also offered.
