Ann Catherine Cross School of Dance describes itself as the longest-serving dance school in Mechanicsville, Virginia, and now operates from 6906 Cold Harbor Road in Mechanicsville plus a second location in Sandston. Its studio has professionally sprung floors, surround sound and stage lighting. Programs run for recreational dancers, competitive dancers and young adult professionals, with classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, lyrical and hip hop. The Totally Tots! program meets every other week for 45 minutes of dancing, rhythm and group activities for children aged 1 to 5, with parents welcome to join in. Adult classes are offered each season, and summer sessions run alongside the main September-to-June year.
