About this studio
Ballet Academy of Charleston is a classical ballet school at 1579 Savannah Hwy, Suite B in Charleston, South Carolina, teaching students from 18 months through adulthood. It is organized into three divisions: a Children's Division (18 months to 7 years) with Mommy and Me, Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet; a Student Division (7 to 18) running levelled Ballet 1 through Ballet 4/5 with pre-pointe and pointe work following the Bolshoi Ballet curriculum, plus a jazz class for ages 12-18 and Progressing Ballet Technique conditioning; and an Adult/Open Division for ages 18 and over. Class placement is by ability rather than age and is decided by the studio director. The academy also runs a Pre-Professional Program and a Junior Company that gives a ticketed spring performance, and offers private intensives, birthday parties and barre fitness parties.
