Frisco Community Theatre Presents THE LAST 5 YEARS
by BWW News Desk - October 11, 2016
Frisco Community Theatre (FCT) will be presenting the musical Drama Desk Winner, The Last 5 Years by Jason Robert Brown. This modern musical is inspired by the playwright's real life experience. This is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show examines the five-year relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Unlike most musicals, this show uses a unique storytelling approach where Jamie travels chronologically in time, from the beginning of the relationship to the end, while Cathy travels backwards in time, from the end of the relationship to the beginning. This show is an intensely personal examination of the rise and fall of a relationship and the games couples play.

BWW Review: BELLA: AN AMERICAN TALL TALE at Dallas Theater Center
by Kyle Christopher West - October 06, 2016
There are few things in the world as thrilling as seeing a new work come to life on stage, especially when that stage is the Dallas Theater Center's Wyly Theatre, our local answer to Broadway-caliber theatre. The anticipation and possibility of being the first one to discover a new hit is so exciting - but it is balanced by the opportunity for a show to be unexceptional or 'not ready for primetime.' BELLA: AN AMERICAN TALL TALE, in this writer's opinion, falls into the latter category.

'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' Author to Sign Books at Logos Bookstore in Dallas
by BWW News Desk - October 02, 2016
David R. Hardiman, author of 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan,' will sign copies of the Christian and inspirational autobiography/memoir from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Logos Bookstore in Dallas. The book shares how Hardiman endured many decades of illness and other challenges alone before Bailey - a shih tzu - became his best friend, service dog and hero. Hardiman was born with a rare medical condition that eluded diagnosis for decades, and he developed post-traumatic stress disorder late in life. Bailey senses when Hardiman is about to have an attack, and she alerts him and helps him deal with the horror. 'The book offers an uplifting story of perseverance, love and triumph,' Hardiman said. 'God blessed me with a smart, intuitive and beautiful dog, and Bailey made and continues to make a tremendous difference in my life.' 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' (Brown Books Publishing Group) cautions against judging people whose disabilities aren't obvious. Hardiman doesn't look like he has disabilities, but his problems are real. 'Bailey's Remarkable Plan' also shares information about laws that protect people who rely on service dogs. 'Service dogs have important roles in the lives of their owners,' Hardiman said. 'People don't understand all the ways service dogs assist their owners, and the public needs to know the laws regarding the use of service dogs. 'My book offers a better understanding of service dogs, and it does so in an entertaining way.' The store is at 6620 Snider Plaza. Hardcovers also are available by going to http://www.baileysremarkableplan.com. To receive autographed copies before or after the signing event, send emails to baileysremarkableplan@gmail.com.
