WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting details for Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore, directed by Terry Martin. The production will be performed on the Main Stage, January 7-February 6, 2011.  The cast features Jason C. Kane as Donny; Tony Daussat as Davey; Matt Moore as Padraic; Kayla Carlyle as Mairead; Matt Tolbert as James; Clay Yocum as Christy; Ian Ferguson as Brendan and Evan Fuller as Joey.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore tells the story of what happens following a bit of an accident with Wee Thomas. Padraic, the head of a section of the Irish National Liberation Army, loves his cat Wee Thomas "more than life itself." Padraic rushes home after learning Thomas is doing poorly. When he meets up with his dad, his young neighbors, and some former colleagues, the search begins for the truth.

McDonagh's works are widely known and performed throughout the United States and Europe. He is simultaneously sardonic and morose, witty and extremely smart. He uses his characters to illustrate the hypocrisy of violence as they obliterate themselves and most everything around them for the sake of coming out on top.

The show is recommended for mature audiences as their scenes of extreme theatrical violence and adult language.

Martin McDonagh was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe this year for his first feature film, In Bruges. He already earned an Oscar for his short film Six Shooter, four Tony nominations for Best Play and England's prestigious Olivier Award for The Pillowman. The New Yorker places him on the highest plane of playwrights, pointing out that he's the "first dramatist since Shakespeare to have four works professionally produced on the London stage in a single season!"

Multi-award winning Director Terry Martin is in his 13th season as Producing Artistic Director of WaterTower Theatre where he has overseen more than 67 productions, most recently as the director of Our Town.

Under his leadership WTT has grown from a small local theatre company to one of the leading regional theatres in Texas.  While consistently maintaining the artistic integrity of the work WTT produces and gaining much critical acclaim, he has - through keen business acumen - managed to keep the theatre in the black and maintain a phenomenal 90% paid capacity for the last five seasons. Some of his 36 directing credits at WTT include As You Like It, Almost, Maine, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Man of La Mancha, Humble Boy, The Crucible, Take Me Out, A Country Life (which he adapted from Chekhov's Uncle Vanya and won the 2005 Rabin Award - Best New Play), Cabaret, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues, Company, An Inspector Calls, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Laramie Project, You Can't Take It With You, Book of Days, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2002 Rabin Award - Director of a Play), Sweeney Todd (2002 Rabin Award Nomination - Director of a Musical), Desire Under the Elms, Ravenscroft, Rockin' Christmas Party (2000, 2001), Enter the Guardsman (2001 Rabin Award Nomination - Director of a Musical), Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill and Little Shop of Horrors (2000 Rabin Award Nomination - Director of a Musical) among others. For Plano Repertory Theatre, he has directed Journey's End (2000 Rabin Award - Director of a Play), Dracula, La Bête, Little Shop of Horrors and Pump Boys and Dinettes.
