Uptown Players Present GILLIGAN'S FIRE ISLAND, Now thru 3/15

By:

Uptown Players presents the world premiere of Gilligan's Fire Island, a new play by Jamie Morris, the creator of Redesigning Women, The Facts Of Life: The Lost Episode, Mommie Queerest, and Silence of the Clams. This unauthorized parody of the popular 1960's sitcom runs tonight, February 13 through March 15, 2015 at the Rose Room Theater inside the S4 nightclub on Cedar Springs.

When hot young YouTube sensation Cody Tanner boards the ferry in Sayville, Long Island, he is over the moon excited for his first trip to Fire Island. Soon he is overboard, knocked unconscious by an overzealous drag queen. He washes ashore on a certain "uncharted desert isle" and meets seven stranded castaways who are suffering from a bad case of island fever. The skipper, his "little buddy," the millionaire and his wife, the movie star and "the rest" are all at each other's throats. Soon, the charming Cody wins them over and brings them all together as a family as they show him the perfect gay getaway and a vacation he will never forget.

The cast includes Mikey Abrams, John Michael Colgin, Kevin Moore, Michael Moore, Chad Peterson, Todd Richardson, and Angel Velasco. The production is directed by B.J. Cleveland.

The production runs February 13 through March 15, 2015, with shows at 8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and 7:30 p.m. on select Sundays (no performances on February 15, 21, 22, or March 13). Performances take place at the Rose Room Theater inside the S4 nightclub, 3911 Cedar Springs Blvd, Dallas, TX 75219. Tickets are $25, including fees, and can be purchased online at www.uptownplayers.org or by phone at (214) 219-2718. All patrons must be 21 years or older and have proof of identification.
