The Denton Community Theatre Announces Auditions for CINDERELLA, 2/7 - 2/9

The Denton Community Theatre in Texas has announce auditions for their April 9th-25th run of Cinderella- the beloved fairy tale told with music and song. Auditions will take place February 7th-9th  by appointment only, and will require that the auditinee prepare two upbeat songs (sheet music is required). 

Auditionees should come with a resume, headshot, and all conflicts.  Those wishing to audition should call the director, Sharon Veselic, at 817-460-8320, between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday to schedule an appointment.

Denton Community Theatre, Inc. is one of the oldest arts groups in Denton and has provided over twenty-five continuous years of theatrical experiences for the Denton area. Denton Community Theatre, Inc. was charted as a non-profit educational organization under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code in August, 1969. It has operated as a full time community theatre continuously since that time. Denton Community Theatre, Inc. has conducted numerous educational programs, both artistic and theatrical, for children and adults of all socio-economic levels, nationalities and races.
 
Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a musical written for television, with music by Richard Rodgers and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It is based upon the fairy tale Cinderella, particularly Cendrillon, ou la Petite Pantoufle de Vair, by Charles Perrault. The story concerns a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters, who dreams of a better life. With the help of her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella is transformed into a Princess and finds her Prince.
