NTPA Names Darrell Rodenbaugh as Chief Executive Officer
North Texas Performing Arts announces today that effective October 1, Darrell Rodenbaugh will be assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer overseeing all functions of the largest not-for-profit youth theatre in the country.
Darrell served as President of the NTPA Governing Board of Directors since 2010 and has been serving the dual role as the chief executive overseeing all operations for the past three years. He initiated the creation of a leadership succession plan with the Board over a year ago, and the new Board President will be affirmed in its September meeting. Darrell will be taking on the CEO role on a pro bono basis reporting to the Governing Board of Directors.

"We are grateful for his generosity in taking this on as we mature our organization to bring on a full-time paid operating executive sometime in the future."
Darrell joined what was then the Plano Children's Theatre Board of Directors in 2010 and served pro bono as the operational executive through 2011 guiding PCT through financial difficulties. He has since been elected Board President for eight consecutive terms leading its evolution into the North Texas Performing Arts and growth to become the largest not-for-profit youth theatre in the country.

Darrell created the AMP Awards, ACE (Acting Company for Excellence), and the new NTPA Academy. He was critical to the creation of the Willow Bend Center of the Arts and served for almost two years as its full-time Project Executive on a volunteer basis. He recruited and worked alongside the incredible "Team of Steel" volunteers who generously contributed their time and talent to design and construct the facility. Darrell and Lisa Rodenbaugh and their children Chris and Lee (attending Loyola of Chicago and Baylor, respectively) have been actively involved with NTPA both onstage and off for over a decade. Lisa has served in volunteer roles for a dozen years at NTPA and currently serves on the NTPA Repertory Theatre Management Board.
Darrell is a Plano-area investor and philanthropist with over twenty-five years in the high-tech industry in sales, sales management, and general manager roles with IBM, Oracle, Yahoo!, i2 Technologies, and prior to this role was SVP and General Manager for McAfee's global $300M Mid-Market business division. He and wife Lisa went on to create "Champion Life Safety Solutions," a security and life-safety services company which was sold in 2016. Darrell is a graduate and Trustee at Washburn University and earned his MBA at the University of Houston.
