Jubilee Theatre Presents Original Musical AUNTEE EXPLAINS X-MAS, 11/26

By:

Back by popular demand, this Jubilee original musical, written by the late Rudy Eastman with musical arrangements by Joe Rogers, returns to the Jubilee stage.

Everybody's favorite Auntee - a little dotty, plenty spacey, and full of digression and invention - narrates a classic Christmas story or two from a whole ‘nother point of view...hers! This Auntee presents X-mas with all the trappings and mixed up in a wonderful muddle of holiday cheer. She sets the stage for a sweeping pageant of storytelling in song, pantomime, tableau, or whatever trips her imagination. Silly and heartwarming, this musical features many favorite holiday songs (done Jubilee-style) and is a great way to add fun to the spirit of the season.

Jubilee Theatre debuted the musical in 2003. This year's production is directed by Gloria Abbs; musical direction by Joe Rogers; and choreography by Carmen Jones. The play stars Stormi Demerson as Auntee, and features Crystal Williams, Aaron Petite, Brandon Burrell, Patricia Hill, Davidra Patterson, Durant Searcy, Aaron Petite II, Genine Ware, and Malcolm Beatty. Live musical accompaniment will be performed by Melanie Bivens.

Performances run November 26, 2011 though December 30, 2011. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances begin at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 3 p.m. There will be no performances on December 24 and 25. Tickets range from $10 to $25, and can be purchased from the Jubilee Theatre Box Office by calling 817/338-4411 or visiting Tuesday through Friday between noon and 6 p.m. or online at jubileetheatre.org
