Amphibian Stage Productions has announced it will develop Music City, USA, a new musical with music and lyrics by JT Harding and book by Peter Zinn. The musical will replace the previously announced Mystic in the Savage State by David A. Miller in Amphibian's staged reading series. Music City USA will have two performances, on Sunday, August 21 at 2pm and Monday, August 22 at 7pm, in the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

Mary Catherine Burke will direct. For Amphibian, Ms. Burke has previously directed Fiction, Time Stands Still, Isaac's Eye, and A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay about the Death of Walt Disney. Casting will be announced shortly.

TJ takes a loan from the local meth dealer to record a demo. When he realizes how much damage he is doing to those he loves, he joins the National Guard to pay down his debt. Just as his band starts gaining momentum the National Guard is called up.

The show is Romeo and Juliet meets American Idiot meets Cabaret with music by JT Harding including country hits "Somewhere With You," "Smile," "Somewhere in My Car," "Party People," "Clean," "Different for Girls" and "Sangria." Music City, USA explores the risks you take to bet on yourself.

Tickets to Music City USA are $20, with additional discounts available for seniors, students, members of the theatre community, and groups of 10 or more. There will be two staged readings of the musical, on Sunday, August 21 at 2pm and Monday, August 22 at 7pm. To purchase tickets, theatergoers may call 817-923-3012, write to boxoffice@amphibianstage.com, or visitwww.amphibianstage.com. The theater is located at 120 S. Main Street, Fort Worth, TX 76104.
