Broadway on Tour is excited to bring Sweeney Todd to the historic Ebell Theatre stage. Under the direction of John Blaylock and the vocal direction of Sarah Grandpr; this exceptionally talented teen cast will bring the Demon Barber of Fleet street to life September 13-15th for 4 shows. One of the darkest musicals ever written, Sweeney Todd: A Musical Thriller is the unsettling tale of a Victorian-era barber who returns home to London after fifteen years of exile to take revenge on the corrupt judge who ruined his life. When revenge eludes him, Sweeney swears vengeance on the entire human race, murdering as many people as he can, while his business associate Mrs. Lovett bakes the bodies into meat pies and sells them to the unsuspecting public. Perhaps composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheims most perfect score!In a first of its kind presentation thanks for Mercantile Bank, the show will be open captioned for the hearing impaired. The actor playing Toby is deaf, and he wlll be signing his part, while another actor does his vocals! Sweeney Todd is by far one of the most ambitious shows we've brought to the stage and it is not to be missed!
