The festival opens with Ascendance, a unity within, an eight-minute dialogue-free film in which a woman confronts the divided parts of herself, danced by Kristin Hakala, Natalie Palmgren, Tara Mohtashami, and Ayla Mohtashami, with David Prottas as a spiritual guide. Choreography and co-direction are by Sharon Savoy, with Sanaz K. Soltani as producer and co-director. The programme also features highlights from Swan Lake, contemporary works by Anaheim Ballet, The Realm Company and Luminario Ballet, aerial performers and soprano Diana Farrell.
