Lifelong dreams, love of literature and past reckoning. Those themes are at the heart of A. Rey Pamatmat's two-character drama, And Right Now. The new play, commissioned by South Coast Repertory, is featured in a staged reading on Monday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m., as part of SCR's 27th season of its NewSCRipts reading series.

Segerstrom Center's Family Explorer Series opens with the Terrapin Puppet Theatre from Australia performing the moving and poetic play Boats on April 6 and 7 in Samueli Theater. Boats is the story about a man named Jof, as told by his friend Nic. These two life-long friends and mariners, who met through bizarre circumstances involving a chicken, a deserted island and a sombrero, escape their past and embrace the unknown future with a great sense of adventure.

Nothing inspires dreamers more than meeting those who are living theirs. Ms. Rubin's drama class at Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley met a number of performers from the Broadway show War Horse who were living their dreams at Segerstrom Center this past two weeks. On Friday, February 1, the class attended a performance and met several cast members afterwards in Founders Hall. The aspiring young actors had the opportunity to quiz their new mentors about the show and their careers. Check out a photo of the group below!

Audiences coming to Segerstrom Center for the Arts to see the Tony Award winning show WAR HORSE can explore a special interactive lobby exhibit illustrating the artistry and history behind the show as well as WWI artifacts and uniforms. They will learn more about the magnificent 'Joey' puppet created by Handspring Puppet Company, see behind-the-scenes footage featuring Adrian Kohler and Basil Jones - puppet designers for WAR HORSE, try their hand at operating a puppet created in the style of 'Young Joey' and learn from an American WWI soldier about what life might have been like during 'The War to End all Wars.'
