Maverick Theater Opens CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL Tonight

By: Jul. 26, 2013

The Maverick Theater presents the Southern California premiere of Cannibal! The Musical. Before South Park, Team America: World Police and the Tony Award-winning musical, The Book of Mormon, Trey Parker took his first bite of musical comedy with Cannibal! The Musical. Offensive, raunchy, silly and hilarious funny, Cannibal! The Musical is the true story of the only criminal convicted of cannibalism in America - Alferd (no, not Alfred) Packer. While searching for gold and love in the Colorado Territory, Alferd and his companions lose their way and resort to unthinkable horrors, including toe-tapping musical numbers! With songs like "It's a Shpadoinkle Day," "When I Was on Top of You" and "Hang the Bastard," this parody of classic American musicals is making its official debut in Southern California after 20 years of flying under the radar.

Cannibal! The Musical can be added to a roster of adult-humored musicals, (The Rocky Horror Show and Debbie Does Dallas) that the Maverick Theater has premiered in Orange County.

WARNING: F-Bombs & Gore, not intended for anyone under 17.

Directed by Curtis Jerome, with book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Cannibal! The Musical opens tonight, July 26th and runs through September 14th. Performances are 8:00 p.m. Fri. and Sat., 6:00 p.m. Sun. Tickets are $25 general, $15 for students with a current I.D. Tickets may be purchased online at www.mavericktheater.com or by calling 714-526-7070. The Maverick Theater is located at 110 E. Walnut, Fullerton, CA 92832, across from the Amtrak station in historic Downtown Fullerton.
