Central Ave. Suite A, announces the opening of a new fine art photography exhibit, 'Elite Athleticism: Beauty, Brawn, and Solitude,' July 11 - July 18, 2014, a thematic exhibition from photographer John Bosma. The Center will host an 'Open to the Public' wine and cheese Artists Reception on July 11 from 6-9 p.m. with an artist talk at 7 p.m.

Orange County movie fans can look forward to another great summer of free and fun film screenings at Segerstrom Center for the Arts as Movie Mondays returns for its eighth season on the Arts Plaza. Movie Mondays 2014 kicks off with the heartwarming 1935 classic The Little Colonel, starring Shirley Temple. From post Civil War America we head to 1990s London with the sparkling Spice Girls starring in the jet set musical, Spice World. Then it is off to turn-of-the-20th century Paris with the Academy Award®-winning musical Gigi, directed by Vincente Minnelli and featuring some of the most memorable Lerner & Loewe tunes. Continuing with the winner of this year's Audience Favorite Fan Poll, Cabaret, starring Oscar winners Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey. Shirley MacLaine as the eternal optimist in Sweet Charity wraps up the summer film series. Center audiences will have a chance to see MacLaine live when she makes her Center debut on September 20 in her one-woman show.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present a special preview of its exciting 2014 - 2015 Season with performances and guest artists on Monday, August 18 at 7 p.m. in the Rene?e and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. The evening will include songs and highlights performed by the casts from shows in the 2014 - 2015 Broadway Series, including Pippin, Motown the Musical and The Phantom of the Opera as well as ONCE, which opens the next evening, August 19 - the final production in the 2013 - 2014 Broadway Series. In addition to performing numbers from the shows, the artists will talk about the productions, their performances and entertaining behind-the-scenes stories. Audience members will have the opportunity to purchase their season tickets that evening.

Wareham in association with Boebe Productions are thrilled to present the first show of their 2014-2015 season, BUDDY - THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, featuring over twenty of Buddy Holly's and rock & roll's greatest hits and directed by Steve Steiner (who directed last season's smash-hit production of RING OF FIRE). "Oh Boy! To have our theatre rocking out to the songs of such greats as Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper is going to be music to the ears of our audiences and subscribers this Summer," offers Wood. Local singer Keisha D will make her second appearance at the Arthur Newman Theater at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert in an all-new cabaret style concert on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2 PM. The show entitled; "Born To Sing", will feature Jazz, Swing, and everything in between with a few of her fan's favorites as well as Keisha's own favorites from a few of her inspirations like Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Bessie Smith, and more. She has also invited another Valley favorite; Charles Herrera to join her, along with local sax players Michael Bolivar and John Bolivar, in addition to her musical director Charlie Creasy who'll accompany Keisha on the baby grand piano.

The Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama presents Nickel Mines, an original work by Creator/Director/Choreographer and faculty member Andrew Palermo, as its final offering in a season which has focused on the theme of Justice/Exploration of Citizenship. A non-traditional musical combining spoken dialogue with interpretive movement and a powerful original score by composer Dan Dyer, Nickel Mines tells the story of a school shooting in the show's namesake Amish town, and investigates the ramifications of that event and the various responses it evoked.

Millennials are graduating from college with high hopes, high debt, and long odds of finding a decent job. Without meaningful work, it is easy for their lives to feel meaningless. Playwright Jeffrey Lo examines this dilemma in his new comedy-drama Dealing Dreams. On June 14 at2:30pm, the Orange County Playwrights Alliance proudly presents a staged reading of the work at Anaheim's popular Stage Door Repertory Theatre. This is the latest installment of the OCPA Studios full-length play reading series. Andy Lowe (East West Players) directs this reading; 50% of the box office proceeds from this event go to SDRT.
