WICKED Announces Lottery Policy for Segerstrom Center Run, 2/17-3/6

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to Segerstrom Center for the Arts with performances from February 17 - March 6. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Segerstrom Hall box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in- person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.

Cal State Fullerton is opening the Tony Award-winning THE MIRACLE WORKER by William Gibson on February 19 (running through March 13) in the Hallberg Theatre on the CSUF campus. Directed by Dr. Joseph Arnold, the docudrama touches on the volatile relationship between the blind, deaf and mute Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan.
Segerstrom Center Welcomes Jazz, Blues and R&B Greats During Special Jazz Weekend

On the heels of Segerstrom Center's inaugural Jazz Weekend this past October, Orange County audiences can look forward to two special concerts in May that will highlight the best of jazz, blues and R&B music. The first concert is May 7 at 7:30 p.m., and features venerated bluesman Charlie Musselwhite, Grammy®-nominated R&B vocalist Bettye LaVette and 'The Godfather of British Blues,' John Mayall. On May 8 at 3:00 p.m., Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Lisa Fischer, legendary Hammond B-3 organist Dr. Lonnie Smith and Grammy Award-winning vocalist and songwriter Gregory Porter will take to the stage. Both concerts take place in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. KJAZZ's Bubba Jackson will serve as MC.

With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston ('Titanic') and a book by acclaimed playwright Arthur Kopit ('Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad'), this sultry and enchanting musical follows the life of world famous director Guido Contini as he prepares his latest picture and balances the numerous women in his life. Drifting toward a nervous breakdown, Contini falls into nostalgic reverie, eventually focusing on the formative sexual encounter of his life, which occurred at the age of nine.

UCI Drama to Stage CLYBOURNE PARK

UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama presents Bruce Norris' Clybourne Park, which was awarded the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play. Written as a spin-off of Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, it examines suburban racial tensions which occur in one Chicago house, 50 years apart. At the helm of Clybourne Park is guest director Leslie Ishii, a celebrated director, actor and arts educator, who is internationally recognized as a leader in the conversations surrounding equity, diversity, and inclusion in the American theatre. Ms. Ishii is excited to explore this rich and controversial work.

Crosby comes to the Rene?e and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on Saturday, March 5 at 8 p.m. Using just his voice and guitar, the show will feature repertoire spanning Crosby's entire career, including new songs from his critically-acclaimed 2014 solo album, Croz, and his 1971 solo debut, If I Could Only Remember My Name, as well as selections from The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
