Acclaimed New York City jazz singer Martha Lorin brings her show "The Great American Songbook" to the Arthur Newman Theatre in Palm Desert on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 2 PM. Joining Ms. Lorin will be local pianist Barney McClure and bass player, Larry Holloway. Tickets are $11 cash only at the box office that opens at 1 PM and is presented by Les Michael's Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series.

Martha Lorin comes from an endless list of relatives in the music business that encouraged her to make it her business as well. Starting back in 1979 with her debut at the Hungry Eye in San Francisco's North Beach. Within a year she had a Billboard nominated album entitled The Best Is Yet To Come, which was the collaboration with composer Frank Collette. Critics praises of the brilliant tone of her voice and exceptional way with lyrics soon earned her appearances in literally every major music venue, and tours of the US and abroad, working with some of the industries most famous musicians. In fact, just a few weeks ago Martha, who by the way, is a Back Stage Bistro and Billboard Award winner with 6 CD's under her belt, performed at the famed Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Martha Lorin in "The Great American Songbook" with Barney McClure on piano and Larry Holloway on bass will be presented at 2 PM on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Arthur Newman Theatre at the Joslyn Center, 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert.
