LATE NITE CATECHISM LAS VEGAS - SISTER ROLLS THE DICE Comes to Laguna Playhouse, 11/4-11

The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham announced today that they are delighted to bring back their favorite Sister in LATE NITE CATECHISM LAS VEGAS: SISTER ROLLS THE DICE, written and performed by Maripat Donovan and directed by Mark Silvia.

"She's back and better than ever! Our audiences could not get enough of this show this past Summer so we are delighted to have Sister back where she belongs," offers Wood. "What a great way to start the holiday season with laughter and the always hilarious Maripat Donovan," adds Wareham.

LATE NITE CATECHISM LAS VEGAS: SISTER ROLLS THE DICE will begin performances on Monday, November 4 at 7:30pm for four performances only at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

LATE NITE CATECHISM: SISTER ROLLS THE DICE is the latest class in the sinfully funny Catechism series. The convent needs a new roof, so the order has decided that Sister (with her extensive gambling experience running the Church Bingo for the last 25 years) will organize a Las Vegas night! Sister will tackle topics ranging from Magicians and Show Girls to live animal acts and the dangers of drive-through marriage chapels. Don't forget: "What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas", but God sees everything!

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM:

Maripat Donovan (Playwright/Sister) originated the role of Sister in "Late Nite Catechism" and has toured internationally, receiving rave reviews for her work in Chicago, Boston, Providence, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, London, and Dublin. She worked in Chicago theatre for more than 20 years, winning Joseph Jefferson citations for her work in "Portrait of a Shiksa" and "The Good Times are Killing Me." For her work in "Late Nite Catechism," she was nominated for the coveted "Outer Critics Circle Award in New York for Outstanding Solo Performance. Maripat won the Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Solo Performance in Los Angeles.

Marc Silvia (Director) has been writing with Maripat Donovan on the Late Nite sequels beginning with Late NiteCatechism 2. He directed most of the "Sisters" in the Late Nite series since it began its original run in Chicago in 1992. Marc is also an award winning actor and saw his first plays produced in Chicago at the Econo-Art Theatre Company, where he was Artistic Director. Marc and Maripat recently finished Late Nite Catechism Las Vegas...Sister Rolls the Dice, the latest in the Late Nite series.

LATE NITE CATECHISM LAS VEGAS: SISTER ROLLS THE DICE will begin performances on Monday, November 4 at 7:30pm and will also perform on Monday, November 11 at 7:30; Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30pm and Wednesday, November 13 at 7:30 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.
