Zapata is a brand-new family musical in the spirit of animated favorites like Coco and Moana—filled with music, culture, and family bonds. Set in the present day, this musical follows sixteen-year-old Xochitl Fernandez, who discovers she shares a family superpower—the power of Zapata! With her talking chihuahua, Chicalinga, at her side, Xochitl sets out to rescue her mother from the villain Helado and his mischievous gatito army. Along the way, folklorico dance itself becomes her key to unlocking her strength. It’s adventurous, funny, heartfelt—and an inspiring story for young audiences A fun, family-friendly event right here in Salem—and tickets are free! Saturday, September 6th at 3:00pm
