In honor of Womens History Month, Emerson Theater Collaborative continues their 11th season with a production of excerpts from two one-women shows: "The Woodhull Project" written and performed by Emma Palzere-Rae, and directed by Albert Cremin, along with "Golda's Balcony" written by William Gibson and performed by Sandra Laub. A Panel of Women Political Leaders from southeastern Connecticut will discuss women in politics following the performances. The event, produced by Lisa Giordano happens on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 23 Willow Street in Mystic, CT.

"The Woodhull Project" is about the life of Victoria Woodhull, the first woman to run for President of the United States in the 1800s. "Goldas Balcony" tells the life story of Golda Meir from Russian immigrant to American schoolteacher to a leader of international politics as the fourth Prime Minister of Israel.

Ticket Price: General Admission $20, Students & Seniors: $15. For more information go to https://emersontheatercollaborative.org or call (860) 705-9711. For tickets: https://emersontheatercollaborative.ticketleap.com/women-power-and-politics/

The Emerson Theater Collaboratives (ETCs) mission is to serve youth, under-represented communities and artists with an emphasis on diversity, by producing innovative and thought-provoking theater in Southeastern Connecticut. ETC explores timely themes and issues through new, original works and modern theatrical classics. We develop and nurture both emerging and professional artists, and collaborate with the Emerson College network of alumni and students. ETCs goals include reaching inner city youth through educational theatrical programming, to support local communities by providing free admission to low-income families, and donating profits to humanitarian causes.
