As tensions rise in Europe, Maria and the Captain find themselves falling in love, but their happiness is threatened by the Nazi presence in Austria.
The Sound of Music became a cultural phenomenon, winning five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its timeless themes of love, family, and the power of music in the face of adversity.
