The Pansy Craze is a musical about female impersonators who lived and performed during the Jazz Age of 1920s America. (These gals sashayed way before we chantayed.) Through memories told by Phil Black, street queens Monique Monroe and Lucille Velez will learn of a gay history they hadn't known before. On December 11, Hartford Stage and the creative team of The Pansy Craze will present the premiere theatrical reading of our musical dj vu to benefit the Hartford Gay Men's Chorus. Starring Alex Bowen, Mark Sage Hamilton, Steve Mitchell, Mike Morales, John Roush and Kate Morran, The Pansy Craze will enlighten, exhilarate and empower. Tickets for the fundraiser are $10 for students and $20 for adults purchased through the Hartford Stage Box Office at http://www.hartfordstage.org/pansycraze!The play contains adult language and situations relating to the LGBTQ+ community.
