The Lisbon Traviata at The Centerbrook Meeting House

A reading of Terrence McNally's The Lisbon Traviata, presented by Brief Cameo Productions as a Pride Month celebration of the playwright's work and legacy. The play centers on a late-night conversation between Stephen, a depressed literary editor and opera fanatic, and Mendy, a flamboyant opera queen, before Stephen returns home to confront his boyfriend and a new, younger lover, with tragedy unfolding on the scale of grand opera. The cast features Jacob Iglitzin as Stephen, Bryan Quinn as Mendy, Nathan Szymanski as Mike, and Galen Donovan as Paul, with stage directions read by Sydney Yargeau. The reading is directed by BCP Associate Producer Alan Piotrowicz and serves as a fundraiser for the company's upcoming January production.
