Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) and the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra (NSO) are excited to launch the highly anticipated Chamber Series with Igor Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale, a gripping musical work from the 20th century. This dynamic performance will take place on November 1 & 2, 2024, at Music Theatre of Connecticut. Stravinsky’s A Soldier’s Tale is a dark and haunting fable set to music. Written in response to the devastation of World War I, the story follows a soldier who trades his violin to the devil in exchange for wealth, only to lose his soul in the process. With a score for seven instruments, an actor, and a dancer, this powerful chamber piece creates a mesmerizing and emotionally charged atmosphere. Stravinsky’s music, known for its spiky rhythms and vivid colors, brings the drama to life with an intimate yet electrifying soundscape. This event is the first in a series of three unique and thrilling performances in the Chamber Series, a new collaboration between MTC and NSO.
Music Theatre of CT is at 509 Westport Ave, Norwalk, CT.
