Celebrate the Holidays Cuban style at The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, December 17 at 8 p.m. Sip your holiday mojito with three-time Grammy-nominated Cuban music group Tiempo Libre, one of the hottest young bands today!

One of Gloria Estefan's favorite bands, audiences will love hearing classic Latin songs, along with some holiday favorites, all spiced up with their unique sound of Afro-Caribbean rhythms and jazz harmonies infused with funk and contemporary R&B beats. They've performed alongside Aretha Franklin, Joshua Bell and Gloria Estefan, among others. This 109 Cheese and Wine Evening of Art, Wine and Jazz Series and Palm Bay International World Beat Series show, kicks off at 6:45 p.m. in the lobby, with a complimentary wine tasting courtesy of Palm Bay International and an art exhibit by local artist Suzanne Benton. Visit Southwest Cafe (109 Danbury Road • Ridgefield) for dinner the night of the show and enjoy a complimentary margarita with your entree when you show your ticket! Underwritten by Northeast Builders and Centro Cultural Cubano de Nueva York, the media sponsor for this show is Radio Cumbre.

Classically trained at Cuba's premier conservatories, the members of three-time Grammy-nominated Tiempo Libre are true modern heirs to the rich musical tradition of their native Cuba. Tiempo Libre's 2015-16 season finds the band in places as far afield as Beijing, China, on a two week tour of Spain, as well as on a week-long tour in the United Kingdom culminating with a performance at the London Jazz Festival. Highlights of their concerts in the U.S. include multiple performances in New York City's hottest new Latin club Subrosa, as well as concerts in Chicago and Los Angeles. They've appeared at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art and performed live on stage every night during the five-week run of the new musical, Cuba Libre, which premiered on October 10, at the Winningstad Theatre in Portland, Oregon. Driven by extraordinary dancing and exhilarating music, Cuba Libre is a contemporary musical based on the collective histories of the members of Tiempo Libre, featuring a book by playwright Carlos Lacámara, the band's own music, as well as a company of 21 actors, dancers and musicians. Before the show, visit Southwest Cafe (109 Danbury Road, Ridgefield) for dinner and enjoy a complimentary margarita with your entrée when tickets are presented.
