TheatreWorks New Milford's Rich Pettibone Steps Down
In December 2009, Richard Pettibone took a final bow after twenty years involvement with TheatreWorks, many of which included his leadership as President. Over the course of his time at TheatreWorks, Mr. Pettibone produced, directed, and appeared in numerous productions, sharing his knowledge and experience with his fellow actors, directors, and designers.
On February 6th, 2010, TheatreWorks held a celebration to honor Richard Pettibone for his countless contributions. After an hour of champagne and mingling, Mr. Pettibone, his wife, Susan, and the many guests went to sit in the theater where speeches were given, reflecting the gratitude and admiration of those in attendance. Among the speakers were former News Times critic, Chesley Plemmons; former TheatreWorks Board Member and actor, Marty Fay; frequent TheatreWorks actor, Mark Feltch; TheatreWorks patron, Ted Hine; and the current President of TheatreWorks, Glenn Couture, all of whom had amusing anecdotes to share along with their kind words about Mr. Pettibone.
As well as being honored in speeches, both Richard and Susan were presented with Lifetime Memberships to TheatreWorks, the fifth and sixth memberships ever to be presented in the long history of the theater. The evening was bittersweet as the theater bade farewell to an individual whose name has become synonymous with TheatreWorks New Milford.
We thank Richard Pettibone for his years of service, wisdom, talent, and friendship and we hope that he will continue to be a part of TheatreWorks as it continues to grow and transform in the future.
