TheatreWorks New Milford will ends its run of the hit musical comedy, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, with music and lyrics by the William Finn, and book by Rachel Sheinkin, on March 21st.

This 2005 Tony Award-winning musical comedy was a smash with both critics and audiences alike. The show follows the experiences of six nerdy-but-lovable outsiders, in the throes of puberty, battling for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Supervising the competition is a group of grownups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. Even willing participants from the audience get to join in the fun.

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is under the direction of Beth Bonnabeau of New Milford and the musical direction of Daniel Koch of Millbrook, NY.

The production features some of the region's finest actors: Cat Crocetto (Newtown), Michael Wright (Sandy Hook), Jaclyn Blythe (Monroe), David Anctil (Thomaston), Jerrial T. Young (West Haven), Tony Saracino and Vicki Sosbe (both New Milford), and Priscilla Squiers and Billy Dempster (both Danbury).

TheatreWorks is an award-winning, local theatre company located on 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202 (next to the CVS), in New Milford, CT.
