Theater Barn Opens 2018-2019 Season with URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL

By:

Opening their 53rd season, the Ridgefield Theater Barn will present Urinetown, The Musical, music & lyrics by Mark Hollmann, book & lyrics by Greg Kotis, beginning Thursday, September 6th at 8pm. Sponsored by J. Mulvaney Plumbing and Young's Fencing, performances will continue Friday and Saturday evenings through September 28th, with Sunday matinees September 16th & 23rd at 5pm, and a special Thursday performance September 27th at 8pm.

Winner of the 2002 Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score, Urinetown, the Musical, is a satire set in a dystopian world. Directed by Deb Failla with Musical Direction by Lisa Riggs Hobbs, the show features Michael Valinoti, Elyse Jasensky, Chris Balestriere, Monica Harrington, James Hobayan, Bill Warncke, Joe Caputo,
Meaghan Elliot, Shawn Tyler Allen, Rachel Lotstein, Samantha Holomakoff, Rachel Lewis, Duane Lamham, Lesli Allen, Stephen Emerick, and Harry Brendan Garnett.

A hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself, Urinetown is hysterically funny and touchingly honest, providing a fresh perspective of one of America's greatest art forms.

The Ridgefield Theater Barn is located at 37 Halpin Lane. Seating is cabaret style and audiences are encouraged to bring food drinks to enjoy before the show. Doors open one hour prior to curtain. Tickets, both for individual performances and for the entire season, are available at ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
