The Sherman Playhouse is holding an audition call for an ethnically diverse cast of men and women - ages 16 to 30 - for the summer production of Hair: The Musical.

Auditions are Saturday, March 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. They will be held at The Sherman Playhouse, 5 Route 39 North (next to the fire station), in Sherman, CT.

No appointments are necessary to audition. Actors should prepare a monologue and song suitable for the show style and be able to sing and move well. Auditioners should also wear clothing suitable for dance and movement. There will be a Bluetooth speaker available for accompaniment. Both professionals and amateurs are welcome.

Rehearsals for Hair will begin May 22. The production runs June 30 to July 29.

For more information, and to schedule an individual audition, please contact director Francis A. Daley at 203-733-2762.

Hair tells the story of the "tribe," a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the "Age of Aquarius" living a bohemian life in New York City and fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War. This summer, the musical will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The Sherman Playhouse is a non-Equity theatre company located at 5 Route 39 North (next to the fire station) in Sherman, CT.
