The MAC Seeks Artists for LIVING COLOR

Milford Arts Council, the MAC and Coastal Arts Guild of CT are calling artists to enter a juried color exhibit of 2- and 3-dimensional original artwork in any medium. This juried exhibit asks artists to interpret "Living Color" in the natural world - an interpretation of the colors found in nature. The exhibit will run from March 21 through April 14, 2019 and the deadline for digital submissions is midnight on Thursday, March 7th. An opening reception for this exhibit will be held at The Firehouse Gallery on Thursday, March 21, 5:30 - 7:00pm.

Artists are encouraged to submit their work online at http://bit.ly/LivingColorShow

Submissions can be made in person by bringing work(s) to the Firehouse Gallery, 81 Naugatuck Avenue Walnut Beach, Milford CT on March 7th from 2:00 - 7:00 PM. There is a non-refundable jury fee of $10 and a submission fee of $25/one piece or $35/two pieces. Members of the MAC & Coastal Arts Guild of CT receive a $5 discount.

All work must be original, recent, and not previously exhibited at the MAC or Firehouse Gallery. Two-dimensional works must be framed and wired for hanging with no exceptions. Framed dimensions: 24" x 36" (maximum size) One larger/single submission is optional.

All submissions will be reviewed by a jury. The jury's decisions are final.

Works not selected by the jury must be picked up on Saturday, March 9 or Sunday, March 10, 12:00 - 4:00 PM Artwork not picked up within 7 days of scheduled date will become the property of MAC.

The juror for "Living Color" is Robin Gilmore Jopp, an artist and proprietor of Made In Bridgeport. She is a teaching artist for City Lights Gallery and Arts for Learning and many community based programs in Fairfield County. Her jewelry designs can be found in many locations throughout CT. Interested in how things are made and the story each piece tells, Robin honors and explores Bridgeport's manufacturing past in her unique jewelry creations and works of art.
